Remembering Elmer G. Harlow Jr.


Elmer G. Harlow Jr. July 8,1921 - April 6, 2006


Elmer G. Harlow Jr. of Easton died on Thursday morning, April 6, 2006 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a short illness. He was 84 years old. He was born in Brockton he attended schools in West Bridgewater. He attended Brockton Business College and was a graduate of Bentley College. He has lived in Easton for 58 years. Elmer was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran.


Elmer worked as a bookkeeper for Kibart Motors and for the U.S. Government in Ft. Allen in Vermont. He was an accountant for Belcher Malleable in Easton for 36 years. He was a corporator for North Easton Savings Bank for 35 years.


Elmer was a member of the Easton American Legion Post #7, The Paul Revere Lodge AF & AM, a 55 year member and past Master of Harmony of Easton Grange #247, past Master of Baystate Pomona #33, and a member and trustee/treasurer of the Pearl St. Methodist Church in Brockton.



He was a stamp and coin collector. He was avidly involved with genealogy and was past president of the Sgt. William Harlow Family Assoc. of Plymouth and a descendent 11th generation of the Sgt. Harlow. He helped publish the Harlow Generation Book.

He was the beloved husband of Phyllis M. (Stoddard) Harlow of Easton, and the late Margaret C. (Allen) Harlow; loving father of Carol Lee Ferreira of Raynham, Elmer G. Harlow III of Imperial Beach, CA, Robert S. Harlow of Glendale, CA, and Deborah Jean Harlow-Laird of Taunton. Brother of Kenneth Harlow of NH. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.


Calling hours on Sunday, April 9, from 5-8 PM in the Copeland-MacKinnon Funeral Home 38 Center St., Easton. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10 AM in the Pearl Street United Methodist Church 415 Pearl St., Brockton. Rev. Montjane will officiate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.


In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in Elmer's memory to the Pearl Street United Methodist Church 415 Pearl St., Brockton, MA 02301.
